Christmas Garland On the Stairs

Here are some tips on how to make your staircase a gallery of lights this holiday season!

I always decorate my stairs with lighted garland because it looks great at night.  I add bows every few feet and at each end, especially at the banister.  The banister (the end of the handrail-pictured below) is a great place to add extra flare.

To the banister, add several layers of Christmas greenery, or pine.  You may want to add something with different texture such as twigs or feathers.  I also added glittered twigs for a little sparkle.  You can also add something unexpected and whimsical such as ornaments or small birds.  Make sure to add a large bow.

To save you the trouble of running around the house to plug all the lights in every night, just buy indoor/outdoor electrical timers that plug into the outlets.  Just plug the lights into these and the lights will turn on and off according to what time you set!

Our family elf, Buddy is always keeping an eye on everything ;)
